Dream Product or Feature

I remembered something else. I have “the struggle” due to having “too many” D-Box chairs. When they’re not all occupied, I like to mute the chairs that are not in use. However, the chairs are not always in the same order in the app. App Chair 1 today might be App Chair 3 tomorrow.

It would be nice to be able to label the chairs in the app.

Also, it would be nice to “buzz” a chair, to identify which app chair is which real chair.

That would be cool.

Hi Brandon, out of curiosity, how do you currently hook up your D-BOX controller to your Trinnov?

I don’t. Trinnov said they have it on their list of updates, but I suspect it is far down on the list. Currently, I use my Oppo to split the audio and provide the stereo downmix. This works well as I can even use the HDMI input on the Oppo to accommodate this for another source. The problem is that this solution limits me to 2 sources. I know Storm Audio provides a stereo downmix output, once Trinnov does, I should be set for any number of sources. Using a Microphone is not something I am interested in unless I run out of options. Call it OCD if you will.

Console compatible

I didn’t have much success with the mic either. I quickly used the downmix option as well. I was just curious as one day I might upgrade my Marantz to a Trinnov but noticed the lack of pre-outs. Thanks!

I would be happy with optical or coaxial downmix outs as I use an older Emotiva DAC for this already. I am curious if you would share your solution.

I just use a stereo rca to 3.5mm downmix cable out of the pre-outs of my processor (center and left front channel) into the Haptisync. Works flawlessly.

LFE Transducer mode based on audio would be a very welcome feature.

Thank you all for the suggestions! The passion you guys showcase is always welcomed and noted!

From my understanding haptuc would work on pc games but would be nice to have on console games either, also VR is getting more and more popular so that would a great addition with dbox chair.

Has to be wearable tech. Console compatibility is obviously huge.

A d-Box App Support for Apple Watch would be great, too!

Support for PS5 Console would be great. Also maybe it would be great to have a Tool, so we can Code Code some stuff by myself. for Example a code generator

D-Box ride films with the option to add 4D accessories - synchronised fans, water sprays and even scent effects. The only down side - I’ll never get the kids off it!

There was a system that Philips demoed a number of years ago for this… it looked cool, but also totally hacky and so variable that no game/movie could ever really support it.

By the time it hit shelves, it was pretty much just LED cubes that sat next to your monitor. Too bad!

As Peter said, 4D accessories would be awesome! I’ve been thinking about this too! I imagine a D-Box fan that kicks in at coded sections of the movie and also releases scents at appropriate times. You could buy scent packs if they need refilling, like print cartridges. The Fan doesn’t need to be bolted on to the couch but could stand to the side of the viewer.
Also it would be great to have some lighting effects that flare up yellow and orange in explosions and gunfire for example. They could paint the room blue when you’re underwater and sandy coloured when you’re in a desert. (I already have the lighting effects with Philips Hue but maybe all this could be integrated into one D-Box accessory).
